Tamolitch Blue Pool

March 6, 2017

I have always wanted to visit this spot in the winter. It holds a different level of magic draped in a white blanket. The McKenzie is one of my favorite areas to hike in the Willamette Valley, very close to home.

Blue Pool is along the McKenzie River Trail. Very popular with people in the summertime, I suggest hiking in the winter or early spring to avoid the crowds.  The hike is a short, and easy 3 mile trek. We did not need snowshoes being early March, but check with weather prior to going, may be necessary.

From Eugene, take OR-126 East towards Springfield. Take for 60 miles until you reach signs for the Trailbridge Reservoir; about 15 miles past McKenzie Bridge, turn left. Follow to trailhead.
