I always choose to visit the Oregon Coast on the off-season. I am not a huge fan of the summer crowds the coast brings. Plus, sometimes the sun shines at the coast when it's rainy in the Willamette Valley.
This weekend we got to stay at Hart's Camp, a renovated airstream 'hotel', equipped with 8 different airstreams. Some new, and some vintage, each airstream has its own touch.
Even though Hart's Camp offers dog friendly airstreams, we decided to leave the pups at home this time. Mom and dad need a dog vacation sometimes too!
Pacific City is very different than most coast towns I have visited on the Oregon Coast. Locals here called it a 'hidden gem'. Although, we thought it was decently busy for an off-season weekend.
Hart's Camp is conveniently located directly across the street from the beach, and Cape Kiwanda State Park. We were able to park the car for the weekend and walk everywhere. You can also rent bicycles for free while you stay here.
When you are in the airstream at Hart's Camp, you feel right at home. A full kitchen, bathroom, queen size bed, cable TV, wifi, and delicious coffee from Five Rivers Coffee Roasters in Tillamook, OR. Not only that, you have a private outdoor oasis equipped with a grill, fire pit, and an outdoor shower. The shower underneath the pine trees was my favorite part. Aesthetically pleasing with a living plant wall and a bedrock floor, I have myself scheming for a outdoor shower of my own! I mean, look at it! Plus, the water got HOT.
Our first stop, Pelican Brewery, a 5 minute walk from our airstream. Delicious beer, food, and atmosphere, we enjoyed Pelican twice on our stay in Pacific City. Plus, its right on the beach. I suggest the fish and chips, YUM! It was open till 11PM which was nice arriving at 8PM on Friday.
We headed back to our airstream to relax and watch a movie. The Inn at Cape Kiwanda has free DVD rentals if you are staying at Hart's Camp, a good tip if your in need!
I had planned ahead with food plans for our stay. Benji and I love to cook, but we weren't really feeling like it this weekend. Coasts towns can be a hit or miss for dining options, but not in Pacific City! Saturday morning we enjoyed Brunch at The Meridian,a hotel and spa on the beach next to Pelican Brewing. Farm to table quality with amazing views of the beach, we enjoyed eggs benedict, bloody marys, all the while watching surfers in the ocean.
